Eric Church’s “Record Year” is revitalizing and heart wrenching at the same time. The perfect combination to charge country fans!

Eric (and co-writer Jeff Hyde), I love how you capture what I have felt, and so many of us have felt during that devastating period after breaking up with someone you love.

You found a way to shine an inspirational light on a broken heart. Okay, not the alcohol part, but the musical part. “Quater notes and Hank’s half times are pounding on this heart of mine!” Aaaah…that feeling a song can give us when we are in the grieving stage after a break up! Connecting with music, or any passion or interest during that time is one of the best things you can do to find yourself again! Eric, as you struggled with this break up you rediscovered a part of your soul through your music.

When going through a break up, doing the things we love and rediscovering our passions is crucial to our recovery. We all know that a break up can feel as powerful as the death of a loved one, and this song helps me feel less alone when going through similar times. It inspires me to explore my passions (guitar playing and singing…and of course-Country Music!!) Thanks, Eric and Jeff!
