Review of Alan Jackson's "Remember When"

“Remember When” by Alan Jackson takes us through the stages of a dream so many of us have-finding young love, marrying your true love, bringing children into the world, connecting with your spouse through the stages of parenthood, and sharing in the joys of being grandparents, as the curtains of life begin to close. This song also hits the heart when it captures the ups and downs couples go through, the joy and the hurt.

“Remember When” we made love for the first time, remember when we took our vows putting our hearts on the line, remember the laughs and the cries, remember the sound of little feet by our bedside? These are some of the memories captured by this powerful piece!

This song really hits the heart for someone as sentimental as I am. While the story in this song may not be a match to my own experiences with young love, marriage, and the strengthening connection through parenthood, I can certainly appreciate and in some ways relate to every part of this song. And the whole concept of “Remember When” strikes a chord with me, because I have so many memories throughout my life that just tug on my heart strings and I can’t help but “Remember When” and I believe that is true for mostly all of us!
